This is an area of the office which has grown massively over the last few years and no other area of an office offers the diversity of design than the breakout spaces.

Reception desks and chairs have a huge variety of designs but the products tend to have an overall criterion. For example, the seating in reception may vary massively in design from product to product, but they should generally look relaxed and are upholstered with fabric. Breakout areas, however, are completely different. The chairs have a huge variation in their design but they can be manufactured in plastic, metal or wood; they can be large or small; they can be stacking or not stacking. Some of the products in breakout areas could easily sit in a company’s reception area but others wouldn’t look out of place in a restaurant or canteen.

Breakout areas are viewed differently from company to company. Once you know how your area(s) will work, then you can narrow down the product requirement considerably.
